Darkfield Microscopy
Structures in the cell or features of the material scatter the light that interacts with them, while uniform areas allow the light to pass without scattering. When using darkfield microscopy, the cell structures or material features appear brighter and the uniform cell or material background look darker. In contrast, our experimental system is simple and requires no complicated or large apparatus, and simultaneous measurement of multiple objects with high spatial and temporal resolution can be achieved easily by using a high-speed camera. In addition, simultaneous observation of fluorescence and dark-field images is also easily achievable by employing filters to select fluorescence before the detector.
